Jeffrey J. Koch

Mr. Koch is president and chief structural engineer for all structural related projects at Westbrook Associated Engineers, Inc. He has served as the lead forensic structural engineer on numerous claims involving structural collapse and OSHA Fall Protection criteria. His forensic investigation and failure analysis experience includes participating in over 50 investigations involving damage caused by rain/hail/snow, wind, flood, deficient design, faulty construction, improper material usage, temporary shoring failure, or vehicle impact. Mr. Koch routinely appears as an expert witness for claim cases of these types. He is thoroughly familiar with all applicable structural design codes related to building/bridge construction.

In 1992, Mr. Koch was promoted to project manager and chief structural engineer for the structures department. As the engineer-in-charge for all structural related designs, he supervised the design team, scheduled and budgeted structure-related contracts, and negotiated contracts.

In November of 1988, Mr. Koch joined Westbrook Associated Engineers, Inc. as a structural design engineer. During this time, he was involved in hundreds of bridge designs throughout the State of Wisconsin. His duties included analyzing hydrology and hydraulic systems, creating preliminary and final bridge designs, estimating costs, and inspecting construction projects.

From 1987 to 1988, Mr. Koch worked as a field service engineer and structural designer for Economy Forms Corporation (EFCO). His duties included structural analysis and design of concrete formwork and falsework for power plant applications, wastewater treatment facilities, and major bridge structures. Mr. Koch also performed field assistance and supervision of site personnel in the installation and removal of the formwork.

In 1983, Mr. Koch graduated from the District One Technical Institute in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, with an associate degree in civil structural technology. He then earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (structural) from Iowa State University in 1987.
